Week 039 - 35.0 kilos (77.1 lbs) lighter over 39 weeks ! - Good things come to those who wait !

Here it is.
My nine month milestone.

Many times this week I nearly thought 'Screw It, It's Not Working'.

Glad I stuck through it as I ended up with a massive 1.3 kilo loss this week.

I was super-focused on meeting but not exceeding my daily food targets, and I was smashing the exercise, but the scales barely moved.

I even did a few walks this week rather than the star jumps in the pool as the walk is harder and burns more calories.

I had a target of cracking the 150 kg barrier, hitting 149.9 kg.
I wanted to crack that barrier by my 9 month milestone.
Oh how I wanted to see those numbers go down to 149 rather 150.
I was focused on that.

Two weeks ago, Friday March 01, I was 152.8 kg.
I could lose 1.4 - 1.5 kg a week to reach that 149.9 kg goal.
1.5 kg a week is doable... Tough - but doable.

I pushed out all stops, but the scales hardly moved.

100g loss, 400g gain - WTF !!!
How can I put on 400g over night?
But the next day I lost 1,000g - ONE KILO overnight.

Seriously - WTF !

Then no change, then 200g loss, then 200g loss, then a 100g gain !

I lost a kilo that week, but that still left me with another 1.9 kg to lose in a week.
No real chance of that.
I'm good, but not that good.

So I fine tuned my diet, reduced a bit here and there, bumped up the exercise a bit.
I wanted to give myself a chance, but again the scales defied me.
A 300g loss followed by a 100g gain.
A 400g loss followed by another 100g gain.

I second thought myself a few times.
I was going so hard and not getting those rewards that I thought I deserved.
I seriously didn't understand why I wasn't losing as much weight as I THOUGHT that I should.

I stuck it out, I persevered, and then finally, the sweet losses came.

Wednesday - 100g loss
Thursday - 200g loss
Friday - 500g loss - a MASSIVE 500g loss overnight.

Bringing me to a grand total of 35 kilos lost in nine months (39 weeks).

I was pretty stoked.

I haven't cracked the 149.9 kg yet, but it won't take long.
I can smell it.

So, the moral of the story.
Good things come to those who wait.

Actually, I am going to change it.

Good things come to those who wait, and WORK FOR IT !

It is difficult to push through sometimes when you mind tries to convince you to give up.

In fact, that is really is the most difficult part.

I know my body can handle a one hour walk, but my mind tries to talk me out of.

I constantly have to fight my mind, to push negativity out, and push positivity to the front.

I constantly have to remind myself that every step I take, brings me closer to my goal.

I constantly have to push myself to keep walking, to keep putting in that effort, to work up that sweat, to drag my 150 kilo body up those six hills on my morning walk.

I know that by doing so, I get closer to my goal.

I know that if I give up, I will be be stacking my weight back on very quickly.

I will not give up.

I will keep putting one foot in front of the other, constantly, to keep going to my goal.

==========================================================

I have my DEXA scan this week, and I am really looking forward to seeing how much my body has changed these last three months.

At my last DEXA scan, I realised that I was wasting my time and effort by not committing fully to my new lifestyle. I decided then to FULLY COMMIT to regular exercise and healthy eating.

Stay tuned for my three month review coming next week !
